An awareness program was conducted at Athukuri para under Hezamara block to make the people know and understand the importance of indigenous seeds.
On 21st August 2013 an Awareness program on the importance of indigenous seeds under FARM Northeast project was organized by JUST assisted by caritas India at Athukuri para. There were 26 participants in the program. The program started at about 10:30 am. The coordinator and the animators of FARM project conducted the program. The program started by an introduction of all the staff given by Mr. Subhas Debbarma. The session was then taken over by the coordinator who spoke on the importance of traditional and indigenous seeds to the people. It was then followed by common discussion with the people. The people shared that fencing, water and lack of plain area people are not able to focus on agriculture. The meeting ended at about 12:00 pm.
