One of the main behavior change communication activities of the Intensified Malaria Control Project-II was miking. On 9th August 2013, miking was organized at Raishyabari, under Dumburnagar block, Dhalai Tripura. The Cluster coordinator announces that malaria is caused by the bite of the female Anopheles mosquito, after the bite of the mosquito two types of malaria can be mainly diagnosed, even though there are five types of malaria they are Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax. Followed by symptoms like fever, chill and rigor, headache, vomiting, jaundice, loose motion and sometimes may accompany severe malaria. When any one has these symptoms they can examine their blood with the RDT (Rapid Diagnostic Test) and get proper diagnosis and treatment with ACTs. These testing kits are available with the MPWs, ASHAs and CHVs in the villagers. Sleeping under bed net is the most important ways through which we can reduce the cases of malaria and keeping the surroundings clean. Lets defeat malaria together.
